Its fauna and flora of an extraordinary wealth and diversity , with a rate of species indemicity close to 80 % , its numerous varieties of precious and semi precious stones , its enchantresse landscapes , such a concentrate of biodiversities which make the island an UNIQUE destination .

Day 1 and 2 PARIS / ANTANANARIVO / AMBATOFOTSY ( 21 km ))
ARRIVAL AT Ivato airport , meeting and transfer to the Hotel Le CARAT , 21 km in the suburb of Antananarivo . Morning : Session of orientation during the visit of the GASIKARA Park , a mixture of ecotourism , culture , and malagasy civilization spreading on an area of 3 ha , which give you a beautiful idea of the Malagasy culture : form of habitation of the different regions of the island reflecting a diversified culture of the different tribes which compose the Malagasy population . Then visit of a typical village around the hotel . , wher the Hadivory ( moat ) and Tamboho ( a large traditional wall ) still exist : ricefields as far as the eye can see , vegetable plantations. Lunch with the locals Visit of an association of craftwomen making baskets with raphia : workshop specialized in the decoraton with dried flowers . Day3 AMBATOFOTSY / ANTSIRABE
Continuation to the South , all along the road , crossing typical houses , the landscape is soften by very wide ricefields which succeeds to conifers and eucalyptus trees ., an other indicator of the Indonesian influence on the Malagasy , A stop at Ambatolampy will make you discover the work of foundry known by the local population who work kitchen utensils and aluminium made objects which become a speciality of the region craftmen . Arrival at Antsirabe , the spa city , City tour . The rickshaw is the means of transportation widely used by the population. Make a small tour all along the big avenue with the happiness of the rickshaws driver . Antsirabe has many sources among them the Ranovisy and the Thermes. Day 4 MANANDONA :
crossing the Ibity 5 to 6 hours of trekking on an uneven of 200 m ( 2h30 + 2h00 ) After the breakfast around 08H00 , we go to the village of Manandona to meet the "stones searchers" in the spot of extraction ( collect and /or purchase of samples Transport by car to the cement works . ( 20 mn of good track) Mineral landscape contrasting with the richness of the ricefields valleys .Endemic fauna and flora According to the season : orkids , carnivorous plants , chameleons , rapaces . Explanation of the guide about the technics of extraction and the nature of the vein of the Ibity: feldspath , albit quartz , red tourmaline , black pink polychrome , blue and pink beryl , triphane , grenat , crystal of rock , amethyst, geological and floristic explanations West / East crossing by the north slopes of Kibory Mount to join the Gite of Ambohiponana Pic nic lunch Accomodation in gite ; traditional house of the Malagasy nobility , with dinner and breakfast; Evening exchange with the villagers .

Day 5 RETURN TO THE VILLAGE OF MANANDONA
4h30 to 5H00 of trekking on an uneven of 200 m , departure from the gite for a tour to the south , climbing to the Ibity summit and return by a line of crest dominating the valley . Pic nic lunch and return to Manandona at the end of after noon . Dinner and night in a rural gite at the heart of the village , animated by folklore dances organized by the villagers . The village has a public primary school and a small hospital with a general practitioner . A gift of material will be welcome .

Day 6 MANANDONA / AMBOSITRA/ ANTOETRA zafimaniry country
Departure to Ambositra and crossing magnificient terraced ricefields and forests of eucalyptus . Arrival in Ambositra , city tour , visit the High school of technology of Imoron'mania region at Ankorombe ( ISTRAM) , handicraft workshop of essential oils extractions. Possibility of consultation ( with stones ) and massage . Ambositra is also the center of Malagasy handicrapf specialized on woodcarving and marquetry ; Visit of workshop according to your availability during your stay in the city . Lunch at TANAMASOANDRO with your personal choice of the Malagasy dishes. Continuation to Antoetra ( 25 km of track ) The Zafimaniry country is a region situated at more than 1500 m of altitude . The houses are built with wood in mortise and tenon joint manner The inhabitants are famous because of their wood carving , you can admire their work on the doors and the windows of the houses as well as on all local handicrafts . Day 7 - ANTOETRA -IFASINA -ANTOETRA
150 km of uneven . With the local guide , 2 hours of wonderful walk across forests of eucalyptus , mimosa , granite paving to arrive at Ifasina . Visit of the village , panel of carved wood windows. Pic nic lunch and return to Antoetra . Dinner and night at the ecolodge .

Day 8 - ANTOETRA - AMBOSITRA - ANDRINGITRA
Departure after the breakfast. Lunch in a rustik restaurant IMANASOAVAHINY with betsileo folklore dances animation .Stop in the city of AMBALAVAO to visit the workhop of antemoro paper making . Interesting purchase of postcards , albums and pictures ... Continuation to Andringitra .Dinner and night at the Gite or at the hotel

The chain of Andringitra spreads over 50 kms since Ambalavao until the south of Ivohibe . From the road of the south after Fianarantsoa , its characteristic forms can be seen , like in the surroundings of Ankaramena . Six peaks are over 2500 m of altitude in this chain and the whole forms a chaotic pile with deep fault fissures or fractures in sensually round imposing mountains . The four peaks among them the peak Boby (2658 m, second summit of Madagascar. . The Andringitra offers among the most beautiful panoramas of Madagascar, with wide areas opened on plateaux of altitude, on the foot of big summits dominating parcels of rain forests ,rich in plants and animals .

Day 9 ANDRINGITRA
Visit of the park . In a very impressive landscape , an exhuberant nature , where a great part of the mountain is integrated into the national park of Andringitra, and where you can admire many plants and animals endemic species .

Visit of the main part of the National park including a side of altitude mountain which include the Central Plateau and the eastern escarpment which goes down to the Indian Ocean . Full board Full board

Fauna : Lémurs : The most known of the south of Madagascar, The Maki is met in the western slopes at the same places like other lemurs of the West .Nine species and sub-species are met on the eastern slope against five species on the western slopes . Birds : 99 species have been counted Other mammals: Many reptiles and amphibians are known from the eastern slopes of Andringitra , but there are many more of them at low altitudes . Among them , there can be found at least 6 amphibians and four reptiles which are pecular to the Massif . The Andringitra is the spot protecting the majority of small mammals including the rodent and the insectivorous of the Tenrec family . The carnivorous are represented by 5 malagasy species among them the Fosa .

Day 10 - ANDRINGITRA -RANOHIRA
Departure from the hotel after the breakfast to visit the park Ny ANJA at Ambalavao to meet the lemurs ( makis ) . A park on the villagers initiative for the safeguard of the environment . An important part of the receipts is given to the villagers . Lunch at the restaurant Bougainvillées and continuation to RANOHIRA crossing the immense plateau of Horombe , the zebu herd country . If time allows it , visit of the Window of Isalo on sun set , beautiful orange color of the rock and the green of lichens . Dinner and night at TOILE DE L'ISALO

Day 11 - RANOHIRA
Full day excursion in the magnificient ruinshape Massif of Isalo with blocks of red disintegrated sandstone which compose a wild landscape . We start with the Natural Swimming pool ( 2 hours of walk with 500 m of uphill to reach the plateau ) A very useful bathe for a saving cooling . Then black swimming pool if you want to take advantage in maximum of the bathe or the MAKIS CANYON : a privileged tour to observe lemurs ( propitecus verreauxi , sifakas eulemurs ... ) Walk up to the NYMPHS CASCADE Lunch included Return to the hotel at the end of afternoon . Day 12 RANOHIRA / TULEAR / IFATY
After the breakfast lunch at Tuléar. Vegetation adapted to the long period of dryness . The Mahafaly live in small group .Meager collect of maniocs , maïze and wild tubercules . Presence of the funerary art characterized by the Aloalos , wood poles carved with geometrical motives and surmounted of naive scenes of the life . Visit of the arboretum Continuation to IFATY by a rather bad track . Dinner and night at the solidary hotel of MANGILY

Day 13 - IFATY
« ACTIVITIES SOS TORTOISE VILLAGE» All day visit of the tortoise village of Mangily By zebu cart untl the village , visit of the fence with the possibility to participate at the daily work of the center , walk in the forests of baobabs, lunch prepared by the women villager . « This will be your contribution to value the natural heritage of the south west as well as the safeguard of the tortoise of the great island . «This visit is organized by Salamandra - ASE and Tortoise SOS » with reception by the local authorities and medias . One operation of reforestation of local species ,will be organized with the presence of the authorities, schoolchildren and partners MNP, ADES Switzerland-Madagascar. Visit of Ambohimanga palace . Ambohimanga or the blue hill , 21 km at the north of the city , is one of the twelve sacred hills of the Imerina . Craddle of the Merina monarchy and then , summer residence of the Queens , the Rova is nowadays classified heritage of UNESCO . Lunch at the RELAIS DU ROVA , where animation with folklore dances from all the regions of Madagascar , can be organized on request according to the number of participants Visit of AKAMASOA or city tour and visit of the handicraft market Drive to Ivato airport and assistance for the flight to Paris .
